Every Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in July and August is “Ladies’ Day”. The Dunany ladies engage in a non-intimidating fun-filled morning playing 9 holes of golf in a different style tournament each week. Whether you are a Class A, B, C or D, Dunany ladies’ day is a wonderful opportunity to hone your skills, meet fellow members and have fun.
Once a year the women have a “Ladies’ Invitational” – usually the second Wednesday in July. There is usually a theme and members are encouraged to ‘dress up’ and invite non-members to participate. Nine holes of golf are followed by a delightful lunch.
Dunany Ladies’ are also invited to participate in playing other Laurentian courses through either “Interclub” or to compete in “Inter-sectionals”.More information on these events can be obtained from the Ladies’ Club Captain.
Ladies’ lessons are also offered during the summer, usually before going out on Wednesday morning. Consult the Club Captain on times and pricing.
There are several competitions and tournaments offered to challenge our female golfers. For a full list of ‘Ladies’ and ‘Mixed” tournaments please click here.
Ladies Branch
The Ladies Branch is made up of all interested members of the DCC who wish to volunteer and participate in various events and fund-raisers throughout the DCC season.
-
The gardeners work together to beautify the grounds around the Clubhouse, while others plant flowers in multiple pots on the tee boxes of the course.
-
The Mixed-Bridge group meets on Monday afternoons to play a few games, socialize and raise money for local charities.
-
A traditional Ladies Tea held mid-way through the season, has evolved into a Cocktail Party where all members and friends are invited to meet at the Clubhouse and enjoy the delicious eats prepared by our enthusiastic volunteers and served by members of the Junior Program.
-
The Piece de Resistance is the design, development, production and assembly of the Dunany Quilt. Since 1976, through the efforts of over fifty volunteers, a beautiful handmade quilt has been raffled through the sale of tickets to the community, all to raise funds for the Dunany Country Club. The tradition of the quilt is one of great pride for all those involved.
Suggestions for new activities and fund raisers are always welcome.
