JUNIOR GOLF
Juniors are children of Regular members who are under 16 years of age. The date for determining the age for membership purposes is January 1st. Juniors have always played an important role in Dunany. Many of our Regular members were Juniors at DCC themselves, as were some of their parents. We hope to continue this tradition. Our goal is not just to teach our children to play golf, but also to enjoy the game, learn good sportsmanship, make friends, and, most importantly, to have fun!
The Junior program is run entirely by volunteers. Parents give their time and assistance to help organize and run the various events. Parents are also responsible for playing golf with their children to familiarize them with the rules and etiquette of golf before they join the program.
Golf Lessons are offered on Monday mornings. Advance registration is required and there is an additional fee for lessons.
The Junior Golf Program is held on Tuesday mornings and each Tuesday there is a different game or tournament format. In addition to the Tuesday games, Juniors are encouraged to participate in tournaments and trophy play throughout the summer. A list of the trophies is available here Junior Trophies and Tournaments
Other than golf, there are a number of fun activities organized and these are open to children of all ages, and to both members and guests.
Some of these activities include:
-
Tuesday Night - Sports Night (two groups: 7 & under and 8 & over)
-
Thursday Night - Movie Night (all ages)
-
Thursday Night- Club Night (ages 13-16)
-
Talent Night/Dinner (all ages)
