What a Thanksgiving weekend!
It was a tremendous holiday weekend on and around the DCC, with glorious weather for golfers and several activities at the clubhouse for all. Here’s a look back:
Car Rally
The premise of this year’s annual rally was Reality TV featuring over a dozen teams, including The Bachelorette team of the Wightman boys - Fin, Luke, Tate and Shea – Alex Armstrong and Will Pedneault.
Organizers Rourke Lowe, Grace Kaufman, Robbie Brooks and Co. set up a great meal of pulled pork with sides before 16 teams battled it out in the annual Boat Races.
Christmas Craft Market & Volunteer Spotlight – Becky Thompson & Diane Hislop
Our last volunteer spotlight of the season shines on Becky and Diane for their outstanding work in organizing this year’s Christmas Craft Sale! Their inspired idea to showcase local talent, bring the community together for a festive late-season event, and raise funds for the Club was a true win all around.
Thank you both for your creativity, energy, and community spirit!

And don’t forget about the Sunday afternoon classic! Young and old all showed up to play and to cheer the players on.

On the course
Course closure is planned for October 31. (Harsh weather conditions may dictate an earlier closure.)
As nighttime temperatures dip, it’s important to protect our course by not playing when frost is present. Regular members will receive an email whenever frost forces a temporary course closure until the end of the season. Please watch for those emails on chilly mornings and follow the direction of course staff to help protect our most important asset. The greens crew will ask you to stop your round if you are on the course during frost conditions.
Please continue to use chronogolf to book your rounds and do not show up earlier than the opening tee times. Also, please do not start your round on tee No. 8.

Last call: Swing & Sweep - Saturday, October 25
This famous interclub event is back again after a successful launch last year! Whether you are a member of the DCC or the Lachute Curling Club, you are invited to a round of golf in the early afternoon at the DCC, followed by a curling match at the Lachute Curling Club.
It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an advanced player; the idea is to practice these two wonderful sports the same day. This sporting afternoon will be capped off with a potluck dinner at the Lachute Curling Club, where each participant is invited to bring an appetizer for 8 people. The bar will be available to quench your thirst.

This is the last Weekly Bulletin of the season, please keep an eye on your email for any important announcements between now and the 2026 season. There should be a couple of newsletters going out before then.
