On the course / What's on

Friday: Performance series - Guy Bélanger, 7 p.m.
Guy Bélanger, the current Canadian Maple Blues Harmonica Player of the Year, has been electrifying festival stages all summer in preparation of a special stop at our beloved Clubhouse. This not‑to‑be‑missed event will close out the 2026 Dunany Performance Series with style, flair, and truly world‑class musicianship. Cost is $25 for members and $30 for non‑members. Sign up here to attend!

Saturday 10 a.m.: Parkes Culross Tournament – 10 a.m.: Members have until 12 p.m. on Friday to sign up for the mixed-event event.

Saturday 4 p.m.: Ross Leslie Memorial Prizegiving and Corn Boil

The annual prizegiving, in memory of Ross Leslie, will be accompanied by the usual corn boil, with hot dogs and hamburgers on the BBQ (vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available). Food tickets will be sold at the BBQ and be charged to member accounts: $15 for adults and $10 for kids.

We’re continuing the tradition of getting a hand from our juniors to shuck corn, so parents please send the juniors to the clubhouse at 12 p.m. to help! If a parent is also available at the same time, we can always use a hand in the kitchen to chop and prepare the toppings.

Sunday, all day

Book your own tee time to play in the Five Lakes Tournament at any time Sunday, just be sure to declare this to the Starter prior to teeing off.

Monday, 9 a.m.: Yoga Class
It’s been a great yoga season with our chief yogi Gaye Parsons. We thank her so much for donating her time to the Club for us. Namaste!

Wednesday  Ladies golf: Toonies & tea

Bring a toonie and your lunch for Ladies’ Day! All ladies’ golfers are welcome to join us, whether you regularly play on Ladies’ Day or not. Come out for a round of golf or simply join us for lunch and some fun!

We’ll gather at the clubhouse at 11:30 a.m. to enjoy lunch, drinks, and tea while celebrating the golf season together. Non-golfers are also very welcome! Bring your lunch and join us for some fun, friendship, and camaraderie.

Hope to see you there!

Greens News

  • After today’s 3-club tournament, the greens crew will start to aerate and punch the greens. We may have to use temporary greens while this work is done. Please be patient as this is an important step to keeping our greens the best in the Laurentians.

  • Please keep your dogs on leash if walking on the golf course; please note there are coyotes and a Fisher roaming the golf course property. These are potentially dangerous to your pets if they go after these wild animals. Please keep all pets out of the sand traps.

  • Wanted: Clean fill and stone. If anyone is doing a construction project and has extra clean fill and stone, please contact Mike Cockhill.

  • Did you hit an incredible shot this season and want to share the story? Send the story and a picture (if possible) to dunany.news@gmail.com to be included in an upcoming season-ending shots of the year feature.

Membership / Bar dues

There are still a significant number of overdue accounts held by members that include everything from annual fees to bar tabs. As previously announced, email reminders have been sent out with the details which are also available through Chronogolf. Please consult your account to pay these accounts as soon as possible, please don't delay!

Volunteers of the week

Thank you to Tina Moore-McLeod for helping to clean out the back storage room of the Starter Shack and Duncan Campbell painted the top of the information board to match our Dunany colours.

Missing something?

The Starter Shack is currently holding many unclaimed items so please visit before the end of the season to see if you left something behind. Or contact the Starter Shack by phone or email - dunanycountryclub@gmail.com - with a description of your item if you see it in the pictures (or not) and they will keep it aside for you. The Starter Shack is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 until Labour Day, and on weekends only until Thanksgiving. We appreciate your help in ensuring lost items are returned to their owners.

Finally...

  • Members are reminded that the DCC Clubhouse Bar closes at 1 a.m. The bell is rung and last drinks should be ordered by 12:45 a.m. Thank you for respecting our operating hours and making life much easier for our volunteers.

  • Have you got an old iPad or laptop that you’re not using anymore? Please consider letting us know what you might be able to donate for use by DCC administration by emailing dunanycountryclub@gmail.com.
