Golf Instruction now available to all members

Hello, and welcome to the 2026 golf season! My name is Mathieu Castonguay, and I'm excited to be joining Dunany Country Club this year as your new golf coach.

I've been coaching under the mentorship of Shauheen Nakhjavani, a well-known PGA Tour coach, and I bring a Titleist Performance Institute approach to my teaching. I’m certified in TPI Golf (Level 1) and TPI Power (Level 2). In practice, that means I look at how your body and your swing work together, rather than forcing everyone into one "correct" model. The result is improvement that's faster to find and more likely to hold up on the course.

I've worked with golfers at every level, from someone picking up a club for the very first time to highly competitive professionals. Whatever stage you're at, my goal is the same: to help you reach your greatest golf potential.

What I'm offering in 2026:

  • Individual lessons — $80 per one-hour session;

  • Group lessons — $45 per person;

  • On-course lessons — $120 per two-hour session.

I'll also be working with the Junior program this season, helping our younger players build a strong foundation and a real love for the game.

For members looking to commit to steady improvement, I offer discounted lesson packages. Just ask and we'll find the right fit.

How to book
The best way to book is to reach out to me directly, preferably by text but email also works:

I'm looking forward to working with you this season, whether you're chasing a lower handicap, getting into the game for the first time, or somewhere in between. Let's make 2026 your best golf year yet!

On the course

Golf Cart across seed.jpg

Please do not pull your golf carts across the tees and aprons/collars of the greens and please try to avoid walking and pulling your carts in all seeded areas. To get around the seeded area near the 4th green, please walk close to the tree line or around the back of the green. Please do not go onto the fringe with your carts.

Also, please do not move the Tee benches as they are difficult to move out of the way for grass cutting.

Par Edge.png

Members may have noticed the addition of Edge-Saver devices to the bottom of the flags on the greens. The Edge-Savers were added to our pins to help remove golf balls from the cup without damaging the hole edge.

Ladies Opening Meeting

Please note the change to the Ladies Opening Meeting. Apologies for the short notice. The meeting planned for June 20 at 10:00 a.m. has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clubhouse. The new date is reflected in the fixture card.

Merch Update

Unfortunately, we did not reach the minimums necessary to move forward with the orders, so we have had to modify the selection of merchandise available to members.  Please review the new form here and make your pick from the new selection of gear – by Thursday, July 3.

If we again do not reach minimums, we will not be able to process this order. If you have any questions, please email dunanycountryclub@gmail.com

Mike Roy Memorial

Members can sign up for this year’s Mike Roy Memorial event, which is taking place on Saturday, July 18. The usual smoked meat supper will follow the meal, and golfers should indicate whether they are eating or not when signing up. On the same sign-up sheet is also an option for members to sign-up for the Meal Only (cost TBC). Juniors/children are also welcome for dinner so please ensure you sign them up.

The deadline to sign-up for golf and for the meal is Thursday, July 16 at 3 p.m. If you are signing up a guest to play, please include their handicap and include the name of the member who should be charged.

“Step into the groove, follow the music, and let the good times roll… Join us at the clubhouse for an unforgettable evening with Bokomaru, who make the rich, improvisational spirit of the Grateful Dead comes alive. Let there be songs to fill the air… Bring your friends, your good energy, and your love of live music — because this isn’t just a show… it’s a journey. Don’t miss the bus — come ride the sonic currents, where colors swirl, spirits rise, and the music flows in waves of peace, love, and cosmic groove.” – Dan LeBlanc

Please signup here to confirm your attendance. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. but doors open from 6 p.m. for a BBQ beforehand.

The Havill family will be leading this year’s Opening Directors’ Dinner Dance with a Maple Leaf Mixed Grill.  Members will receive an email at 10 a.m. this Friday (June 19) with a 48-hour priority link to the sign-up sheet. Thank you to Duncan Campbell for taking the initiative to repaint the signs for each hole in time for the new season. They were sorely needed after a decade without touch-ups.
